Zaidi asks DMs and SPs to curb the use of money and liquor during polls


Patna: Chief Election Commissioner of India Nazim Zaidi has directed all the District Magistrates and Superintendent of Police to curb the problems of luring the voters with wine and money ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls. Ziadi also said that the election will be completed before November 29, although the dates have not been declared yet.

On Saturday a meeting was held at Patna with the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, District Magistrates. Nearly all the officials of the Election Commission were present at the meeting including Zaidi. In the meeting he instructed the officials to stop the misuse of liquor and money in the elections.

The tenure of the Bihar Assembly is scheduled to get over on November 29 following which President’s rule will be enforced in the state.
