Youths arrested for extracting money with fake job promises


Kolkata: Two youths have been arrested by Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate for cheating with promises of government jobs. They have been arrested by personnel from Electronic Complex Police station on Friday night. They were produced at Bidhannagar CJM court on Saturday. The arrested youths have been indentified as Kamalesh Shaw (27) and Niranjan Kumar (32). Both of them are the residents of Bihar.

According to police, Kamalesh is a resident of Gajuli in Bihar while Niranjan is a resident of Nalanda. It has been alleged that the accused had opened a fake website of Central Government’s Self-employment scheme and started cheating business at Sector V of Salt Lake and extracted lakhs of rupees from candidates luring them with government jobs at various departments.

A case of cheating was filed with the Bidhannagar Police Commissionarate by a few candidates who didn’t get any job. Police started an investigation into the matter and arrested the youths on Friday night. Police is suspecting the involvement of a bigger gang in the case.
