World War II bomb haunts London


London: More than 1200 people have been evacuated from their homes after an unexploded World War II bomb was found from a construction site in London.A 400 meter wide cordon was put in place by police as the area went under virtual shutdown after the explosives were reported to be found in Southwark Irish Pensioners centre in Southwark in southeast London.

The residents have been told that they will not be allowed to return to their homes till the operations end and the bomb disposal squad disposes the bomb.

An Army disposal team is working to deactivate and remove the bomb. To secure the area, residents in a 328 foot (100 meter) radius around the explosive have been evacuated from their homes while traffic has also been rerouted through London.
