Kolkata: For the first time workers of the capital will raise voice against Modi government. Lakhs of workers, peasants and agricultural workers from across the country are descending on capital to make the Mazdoor Kisan Sangharsh Rally on September 5 a historic success.
The rally is being held under the joint leadership of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) and All India Agricultural Workers Union (AIAWU). The common men, who walks in the rally demanding lands, employment, lightening of labor law, and not privatization of national property. This rally called Mazdoor Kisan Sangharsh Rally.
This unprecedented rally is being held to oppose neoliberal policies, the communal agenda and the authoritarian attacks by the Centre, anti-government activities, religious polarization, and the country’s security in the field of defense. According to the protesters, they do not have employment. Again petrol, diesel price hikes day by dat, medical and education costs are increasing also. The common people will have to go on the path against this.
They Demanded for: Curb price rise and universalize the public distribution system; Concrete measures for generation of decent employment; Minimum wage of not less than Rs 18,000 per month for all workers; Stop anti-worker labour law amendments, social protection for all workers, harassment of the labor will be stopped, public sector fare should not be privatized, cancellation of transport law, tea The workers will have to accept the demands of the chotmis, open the factory, stop terrorism and genocide in the state.
