Work Will Be In Progress But Sealdah-Budge Budge Line To Remain Normal

Kolkata: The train services in the Sealdah-Budge Budge line will remain suspended for 40 hours to remove the remains of the Majherhat bridge which collapsed few months ago. No goods train will even run during these 40 hours.

According to the Railways, the remains and debris of the collapsed Majherhat bridge could not be removed yet. Hence, it has been decided that those will be removed for which the train services will remain closed. The train services in the Budge Budge line will remain shut from Saturday 2pm to Monday 6 am. Both the up and down trains will remain shut.

Instead of Majherhat, the trains will run from Prinsep Ghat. But it will not have any effect of the running of local trains on the Sealdah-Budge Budge line. A notice has already been sent to different stations about the issue. But questions are arising that the way the work will be done by blocking power will have an effect in the normal train services in the Sealdah-Budge Budge line.
