Kolkata: The Mohun Bagan supporters are eagerly waiting for the Super Sunday when Bagan will take on Ashley Westwood’s Bengaluru FC at their home ground. Considering the situation, the green and maroon fans have already entered into the celebration mood for winning the I League after 14 years. It has not been very often that a mere Mohun Bagan practice in the club lawns got cheered by a number of Bagan fanatics. Well, such was the scenario in the tent before their last practice of the season. The supporters kept saying to each other, if the defensive BFC gets restrained from scoring, the league will be their’s. Rising up the adrenalin of the scenario, one of the fans was heard saying “Sanjoy da is the only person who can bring the I League to Mohun Bagan which the foreign coaches cannot.”
And Sanjoy Sen? What was his version before the all important tie? He was seen in a calm and composed state as he himself set the ball for Sony and Souvik Ghosh who were seen taking on set pieces. But after the practice, Sanjoy said that, “It would be improper to say that we have not taken any pressure. It is our duty to see off the team with the title. Our fans have expected something from us and we will try to live upto them.” He further added that, if something negative happens, Sanjoy would feel very bad as a whole.
Sanjoy’s main task is now to pep up the Katsumis and the Nordes. But how does he get the motivation? On asking the question, comes the simple reply of a Bangali coach. His office, tea-adda and good wishes from his close persons keep him motivated. He knows that he has already kept one hand on the Cup. Now it’s time to rewrite the history of the National Club of India. Taking instance of Carlos Ancelloti, Sen says that Ancelloti might have given many trophies to Real Madrid but after the turn of the season, everyone forgot the result. So there is no point in thinking of the future. It time to live in the present and make the best use of it, added Sanjoy Sen.
Sanjoy said that he had been getting encouragement from quite a few number of Indian coaches. Hence, it’s time for him to deliver the goods. Sanjoy had previously won the IFA shield with United Sports Club and the Mohammedan Sporting Club. He had also taken Md. Sporting to the main phase of the I League. Well, now its time for him to get the main title in his kitty. Sen and Mohun Bagan looked all prepared to take on Sunil Chhetri’s BFC at Bangalore on Sunday.
