Patna: Bihar Chief Minister and JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar on Monday refrained from contesting the Bihar assembly polls saying that he wanted to concentrate on campaigning for the upcoming Assembly polls which will be held in September/October.
Nitish has already been declared the Chief Ministerial candidate by the JD (U) and RJD, Congress and NCP coalition.
The bihar assembly polls will see a direct fight between the JD(U) and the BJP. While the JD(U), RJD, Congress alliance has already announced Nitish as its CM candidate, the BJP has decided to depend upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to win in the polls.
Prime Minister narendra Modi has already announced a special package of 50,000 crs to Bihar from a rally last month and also inaugurated a number of projects in Patna.
