Bengaluru: The scorecard says it’s the perfect game for India, but the scorecard often lies. There were a few misfields and dropped catches, not to mention full tosses. They were close to perfect, especially in the batting department which is heartening. With four of the top six in the form of their lives, Mithali will sleep a lot better.

Jahanara Alam: “Our spinners were good but we leaked too many runs in the slog overs. They had wickets in hand it was always going to be difficult. India have a strong bowling sude and with the required run-rate above 9 it was always going to be hard. But I feel scoring 91 against India is a decent effort. We still have 3 matches in hand and hopefully we will do better in those games.”

Mithali Raj: “I think the team has done very well. Though Bangladesh are a improved side a win against them will give a lot of confidence. The wicket was good to bat and it was always important to get a good start. The ball was also coming on nicely and as I said the start it very important.”

After Indian Women posted their highest T20I total, it was always going to be a herculean task for the visitors. The chase never got going as wickets fell at regular intervals. For India it was just a stroll in the park as they never looked under presuure, be it with the ball or bat. The fielding has also been exceptional.

“The team was expecting big score from me and I just tried to execute myself on the wicket. I’m really happy that I contributed to the team. Our target was 180 so I just tried to go hard towards the end. The way we played today, we want to continue the form till the final game. We want to carry on the momentum” reveals an elated Harmanpreet Kaur who deservedly is the Player of the Match

Heres the last over.
