With NSA level talks cancelled, Pak violates ceasefire at Kupwara

Jammu: Pakistan continues with ceasefire violations on Saturday night at Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir with NSA level talks coming to a halt between India and Pakistan.

According to ANI reports an encounter between security forces and militants are underway in Handwara sector. Army officials said that 2-4 militants believed to be holed up inside a house. As per latest reports one terrorist has been killed in retaliatory fire by the Indian forces.

The incidents comes up as Pakistan cancels the NSA level talks with India saying that the preconditions set by India ahead of the talks cannot be welcomed.

Earlier in the day, Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj had given an ultimatum to the Pakistani Authorities saying that Aziz is welcome if he focuses on talks related to terrorism as agreed at Ufa between the Prime Ministers of both the countries.

She had even said that talking to Huriyat leaders before the talks would mean involving a third party which will clearly violate the Shimla agreement between the two countries where it was agreed that no third party would be involved in the talks between the two countries.
