Kolkata: Train services were affected in Sealdah south section after an overhead wire collapsed near Baruipur on Monday night.
The incident took place at around 9.30 on Monday. It led to power cut, as a result of which various trains, were stranded at different stations. A few long-distance trains which were about to enter the station during the period, were stopped.
After being informed, senior railway officials and engineer rushed to the spot to repair the damaged portion of the overhead wire. Only train services between canning and Budge Budge are running. Train movement is closed in the remaining Diamond Harbor, Baruipur and Laxmikantpur sections.
