Kolkata: The Alipore Meteorological office predicted a dip in mecury level as the ‘city of joy’ gears up to celebrate Christmas. The met office forecast colder days in the city as the temperature is expected to fall further on Sunday.
The clear skies and winds meant the mercury would take a dive further. Bangladesh and West Bengal received rainfall earlier in the month and cloudy skies were hovering due to cyclone in Bay of Bengal.
The skies cleared on Friday and the Sun peeped out after a long wait. Meteorologists hoped the cyclone will weaken further and predicted clear skies ahead.
This would meant the cold breeze from North-West side would increase and the temperatures are likely to go down. The Alipore Met office predicted strong winds on Sunday afternoon.
