Kolkata: The Supreme Court’s verdict on the Panchayat polls has come as a major setback for the saffron party along with all other opposition parties.
To this, the former state BJP president Rahul Sinha told Kolkata24x7 that, “The TMC is celebrating now after getting relief from the Supreme Court’s verdict. I believe that within very less time, their enjoyment will be turned to disappointment. We will bring Trinamool-free Bengal in 2019. The people will answer the murderers of democracy.”
Did BJP accept the SC’s verdict as their own defeat? To this, Sinha told Kolkata24x7 that, “The imbalance in the Panchayat vote is clear in the SC’s verdict. No where it is mentioned in the verdict that no imbalance occurred in the Panchayat polls. If the SC would have said that nothing happened outside law and everything was perfect then the question of losing would not have arrived. But the court has asked to file case individually in the court. Hence, everything becomes clear.”
The Supreme Court said that another voting is not required in the uncontested win in 34% or 20,959 seats. The state election commision will be able to declare the names of the winning candidates. The is not law in the constitution over the submission of nomination online or through e-mail. hence, the nominations filed through online or by email will not be accepted.
