London: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Prime Minister Narendra Modi (wax version) in New Delhi on Monday, before the latter flies to London to take up residence at the famous Madame Tussauds from April 28.

Three other Modi wax figures will be displayed in Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok from today.

“What can I say? As far as art is concerned, the Madame Tussauds team is exceptional at what they do. What Lord Brahma does normally is what the artists there are doing. Today, I had an opportunity as the prime servant of my people to meet my wax figure,” PM Modi said after the unusual meeting.

The two Modis were identically dressed in white kurta pyjamas with cream jacket and black shoes. PM Modi joined his wax twin in a trademark namaste.

The figure will now join other global leaders at the world famous Madam Tussauds wax museum on Baker Street location. Along with contemporary politicians like President Obama, David Cameron, Angela Merkel and Francoise Holland, he will stand alongside giants like Mahatma Gandhi and Winston Churchill.

“We will be delighted to welcome Mr Modi to the world stage at Madame Tussauds, London,” said General Manager, Edward Fuller, adding, “It’s wonderful that he had the opportunity to see his figure in India earlier this week before the public gets the chance to meet him here.”

Mr Fuller said PM Modi’s social media following showed just “the immense interest in him” and said he was sure that would mean many “guests lining up to stand shoulder to shoulder with one of the most influential men in the world.  And maybe even grab a selfie.” PM Modi is the second most followed politician after US President Obama on Twitter with 73.5 million followers.

Each Modi figure cost 150,000 pounds and took a team of talented artists four months to make.
