Baduria Violence: Internet Services Suspended By Govt

Basirhat: Internet services  has been suspended by the government in Baduria as a precautionary measure so that rumours are not spread. following communal violence in North 24 Parganas since Tuesday night.

Local residents complained that the connectivity is disrupted in the violence hit region. However, the government hasn’t notified on the issue. The disruptive services were reported even in Habra and Barasat.

It is to be believed that it might be a measure to halt the usage of socail media which earlier triggered the communal clash.

Local train services were affected in the Sealdah-Bangaon section as people travelled through the tracks at Duttapukur and Ashokenagar stations and shouted slogans. A pair of trains plied from Basirhat station in the morning, hours after which services were disrupted due to demonstration there, GRP sources said. Most of the shops, markets were shut in and around Baduria.
