‘West Bengal Model Of Country In Facing Maoists’


Kolkata: Attacking the saffron party, chief minister Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the inefficiency of Raman Singh’s government over the Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh on Monday.

During an inauguration programme of Jagadhatri puja at Posta, Mamata said, “Bengal is the example to the country in terms of fighting against the Maoists.”

Five personnel of Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) were injured and around five Naxals were dead in the encounter that broke out between security forces & Naxals in Bijapur’s Pamed area on Monday.

An improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated early morning in Dantewada district by Maoist, who had called for a boycott of the polls.

A fierce gunfight broke out between the security forces and Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Antagarh village after the Maoists triggered at least seven explosions on Sunday.

CM Mamata said, “BJP has been ruling in Jharkhand for one and a half decade. But not a single development was done. As a result, fighting against Maoist is being impossible.” She also praised West Bengal in dealing with the Naxal issue.
