WBHRB Invites Applications For Block Medical Officer Post


West Bengal Health Recruitment Board (WBHRB) is inviting application from the eligible candidates for the posts of Block Medical Officer. Interested and eligible candidates may apply Online only through the official website of the West Bengal Health Recruitment Board (WBHRB). The vacancies are in the cadre of West Bengal Public Health- Cum-Administrative Service under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal. The post is temporary but like to be permanent in future.

Vacancy Details:


No. of Vacancies: 216 Nos. (UR-111, SC-48, ST-16, OBC-36, PWD-05)

Educational Qualification: Medical Degree in the first or second Schedule or part-II of the third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and Registered as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal.

Preference shall be given to candidates who possess recognized Post Graduate Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health. Epidemiology Health Management and Hospital Administration.

Note: Candidates must have ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (Not applicable to the candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali).

Age Limit: Maximum-36 years as on 01/01/2017. Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600 – Rs.42000 and Grade Pay Rs.5400/-

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Preliminary Examination and Interview.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.210/- as Application Fee.
