WB Police Tightens Security At Assam-Bengal Border


Cooch Behar: The West Bengal police has tightened security at the Assam-West Bengal border over an expected influx of immigrants from Assam, post the publication of the draft NRC.

All the cars coming from Assam to our state are being checked. DGP CID Sanjay Singh looked into the situation at Cooch Behar’s Baxirhat border. Along with him were present IG North Bengal Anand Kumar, Cooch Behar district police super Bholanath Pandey and other police officials.

Police super Bholanath Pandey said, “The situation is normal. A platoon IRB will be deployed at the Assam-West Bengal border to tighten the security. Till now, no one
has come from Assam into our country.”
