WB Panchayat Case: SC To Pronounce Final Verdict On Friday

New Delhi: All eyes are on the Supreme Court as it is likely to give final verdict on Friday regarding the case of uncontested winning of Panchayat seats.

Violence reported across the West Bengal during 2018 Panchayat elections. Even on voting day, the violence had been also reported in the various parts of the state.

The candidates of the opposition part failed to submit nomination for many seats in Panchayat polls due to the alleged violence of the ruling party.And due to this the ruling party candidates won without contest. This allegations came from the opposition parties of Bengal. The complaint was filed by the CPM against the ruling party.

TMC candidates have won almost 34 percent seats of the state in the Panchayat elections. After that opposition party lodged complaint.The Supreme Court did not allow to give the certificates to the winning candidates. The Supreme Court also said that hearing of the case will start after the voting is held in remaining 66 percent of the seats.

Earlier, The hearing for the West Bengal Panchayat elections had been completed on Monday as Supreme Court said that the division bench led By CJI Dipak Mishra will give verdict in a week.

Last week, due to some health issue of Justice Chandrachur and the demise of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee the hearing on this case was postponed.
