WB Govt to Open Central Purchasing Center


Siliguri: West Bengal state government is going to open Central purchasing Centre, state Food minister Jyotipriyo Mallick said on Tuesday. Through this platform farmers sell their rice directly.

The center has been already open in Alipurduar, Falakata, Jalpaiguri, Maynaguri and Rajganj. The framers will get Rs 1410 per quintal by selling rice. Farmers will also get incentives Rs 12.

According to Food department, their main aim to purchase 30 lakhs metric ton rice from Bengal. State government will also campaign for this center.
