WB Govt To Make Encroach List In Siliguri

Siliguri: Bengal tourism minister and Darjeeling district Trinamul president Gautam Deb will prepare a comprehensive list of land owned by different state government departments which were encroached by people in and around Siliguri.

He had taken the decision after it had come to his notice that many of the plots were illegally occupied and a section of Trinamul workers and leaders were also involved.

Gautam Deb will also send the copy of the list to Partha Chatterjee, the secretary general of the party, seeking necessary steps against the offenders.

The minister has written to officials of agriculture, housing and public works departments to prepare a list of their plots in and around Siliguri so that there can be a clear understanding as how much land has been encroached.
