Kolkata: The West Bengal government was left red-faced on Sunday after Bollywood
actor Farhan Akhtar pointed out a “glarring error” to the WB’s Minister of School Education and Trinamool Congress leader Derek O’Brien.
Akhtar took to twitter to say that a major mistake was made in the depiction of legendary athlete Milkha Singh in a West Bengal textbook. Instead of the flying Sikh’s photo, the publisher used Farhan’s picture from the movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
To the Minister of School Education, West Bengal.
There is a glaring error with the image used in one of the school text books to depict Milkha Singh-ji. Could you please request the publisher to recall and replace this book?
Sincerely. @derekobrienmp https://t.co/RV2D3gV5bd
