WB CM’s Pathsala At Jhargram


Jhargram: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Chairs an administrative meeting for the development of Jhargram district. All administrative officials are present at the meeting.

The Chief Minister took stock of the status of all the developmental works that are being done in the district. She claimed that West Bengal turns number one in 100 days work.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee went to Jhargram with a set of programmes including the administrative review meeting that she held on Friday.

In the meeting she has taken stock of all the ongoing projects and social schemes in the newly formed district. All the senior administrative officials and Police officers were present in the programme. Bengal CM has taken a class of the Block Development Officers of Aamlashol, Baashpahari, Jamboni. She pointed directly “ We are getting many complaints from your area. Alert”.

In April The Chief Minister had announced a development package for Jhargram worth Rs 200 crore after it was bifurcated from West Midnapore. Banerjee has taken stock of the development projects and she has discussed the issues relevant to further development of the area.

After coming to power, we started giving rice at Rs 2/kg to the tribals in Jangalmahal. We have created 81 lakh jobs in six years. This year we will create 10 lakh additional jobs. We are No. 1 in creating rural employment.

Banerjee maintained that for all round development of the area, control over the Panchayats is required. “It is only through the Panchayats, that various benefits are given to the people and so control over the Panchayats is required,” she maintained. Centre had stopped funds for ICDS and ASHA projects. Despite our financial constraints, we are running these projects with our own funds.

She said during the past seven years, massive development has taken place in Jangalmahal. Three super speciality hospitals at Jhargram, Nayagram and Gopiballavpur have come up in Jhargram district. Roads have been constructed in Belpahari and Amlasole, eco tourism centres have come up in different places and tourism is coming up in the district in a very big way. Through Kanyashree, Sabujsathi and Sikhashree, the student community has been hugely benefitted.

She further adds “We will always stay beside the people. I have no personal agenda. I have always struggled for the rights of the people”. Govt likely to start Bus service at night in Jangalmahal, she claims.
