WB CM To Visit Purulia District, D-Zone Security Tightened


Purulia: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will visit Purulia district on March 5.In her two–day tour, the Chief Minister will be holding the administrative review meeting.

According to a state government official, Banerjee will be holding the administrative review meeting on Tuesday in which she will be taking stock of all the ongoing projects and social schemes in the newly formed district.

Earlier the Chief Minister had announced a development package for Purulia and that the Chief Minister will be taking stock of the development projects and she would discuss the issues relevant to further development of the area.

On Monday, the Chief Minister will be attending the programme of Kalipur Football Ground where senior administrative officials and police officers will also be present in the programme.

On Sunday, before the Chief Minister’s arrival, DM & SP Purulia visited the spot. Security has been tightened in Purulia to avoid any untoward incident during the stay of the Chief Minister. A large contingent of police was posted at strategic locations so that the place remains trouble free. D-Zone security is tightened.

Senior police officers including Additional Superintendents of Police and Deputy Superintendents of Police are in-charge to look after the security arrangements in Purulia. Officers of both bomb and dog squads have carried out frisking operations at regular intervals at all the venues where the Chief Minister will be visiting in the two day
