Bankura: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will visit Bankura District and hold a public meeting at Bankura on March 6. She will be inaugurating a bouquet of developmental projects. Security tightened to avoid any untoward incident during the stay of the Chief Minister.
According to a state government official, Banerjee will be holding the administrative review meeting on Tuesday in which she will be taking stock of all the ongoing projects and social schemes in the newly formed district.
Earlier the Chief Minister had announced a development package and that the Chief Minister will be taking stock of the development projects and she would discuss the issues relevant to further development of the area.
Before the Chief Minister’s arrival, DM & SP Bankura visited the spot. A large contingent of police was posted at strategic locations so that the place remains trouble free. D-Zone security is tightened.
Senior police officers including Additional Superintendents of Police and Deputy Superintendents of Police are in-charge to look after the security arrangements in Bankura. Officers of both bomb and dog squads have carried out frisking operations at regular intervals at all the venues.
