WB CM Mamata Greets Nation On Eid-E-Milad-Un Nabi

Kolkata: Greeting the nation on Eid-e-Milad-un Nabi, West Bengal chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday wished that compassion and brotherhood prevails in society.

” My best wishes and heartiest greetings to all on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of the Holy Prophet. May the spirit of love and service to humanity, tolerance and universal brotherhood, which the Holy Prophet preached, kindle our lives with joy and happiness” tweeted CM Mamata.

Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi or Eid-e-Milad is a day dedicated to Prophet Mohammad and his teachings. According to legends, the Prophet was born on the twelfth day of Rabee-ul-Awwal in Mecca in 570 CE. Rabi-ul-Awwal is the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar. This year, Milad will start from the evening of November 20 and will continue till November 21.
