WB BJP To Stage StateWide ‘Thana Gherao’ Protest Over Violence


Kolkata: The West Bengal BJP to organise a statewide demonstration infront of all Police Statioons which is named as ‘Thana Gherao’ in protest against the continuing violence over filing of nomination for the panchayat polls.

The protest comes in the backdrop of widespread violence across the state over filing of nominations. There have been several incidents of clashes between the BJP and the TMC supporters in various parts of the state.

Violence marred panchayat elections in West Bengal where at least twenty two people lost their lives and scores were injured in political violence in different parts of the state.

Hanging body of a BJP activist Trilochon Mahato found in Balarampur of Purulia district on Wednesday. The 18 years old was a resident of Supurdi block of Balarampur who was missing since Tuesday night.

BJP claimed, Trilochon has been mudered by TMC goons. BJP has weaponed a piece of paper and T-shirt recovered with the deadbody which stated “His Participation in politics took his life.” Though TMC didn’t react on the issue but it has sparked agitation in the locality.
