Kolkata: She used to come to the drawing room of every middle class family through Star Jalsha. Her jovial expression, active participation and spontaneity brought her close to every serial watcher in the Bengali families. Infact, no one could imagine that the darling of the small screen, Disha Ganguly will one day be found hanging from the ceyling fan of her room, dead and cold. According to close sources, Disha’s untimely death raises question about her orientation. Her of late relationship with Suchandra Banerjee has given a wide angle to the suicide case of Disha. It is heard that, Suchandra attempted suicide on hearing about Disha’s death.

Disha and Suchandra were close friends for a long time. They first started working with each other in a serial called ‘Mouchak’. They were spotted at various places together. From seeing Atletico De Kolkata’s match to spending quality time with each other at various restaurants of Kolkata, Disha was accompanied by Suchandra. They were even said to have spent a few personal moments with each other. Previous associations of Suchandra and Disha raise questions on whether they were lesbians?

Infact, the relation between Disha and Suchandra was not accepted by Disha’s parents. Being a rebel, Disha chose not to live with her parents. She moved on to a separate flat at Parnashree where the locals have reported that Suchandra often came to spend time with Disha. Trying to put a barrier to this relationship, Disha’s father returned from Nairobi and is even said to have foul mouthed Suchandra. On the other hand, Disha’s marriage was fixed with another guy of the silver screen named Vivan Ghosh.

Police is trying to investigate the matter. It is learnt that Disha had even gone to cheer for KKR against MI at the Eden Gardens, the previous day of her death. Now it is to be answered that what went wrong all of a sudden that Disha had to choose the path of quitting life? Was it the societal structure that did not allow her relationship with some one of the same sex or is it something else? The question remains to be answered or perhaps unanswered.
