Warder Accused Of Supplying Drugs In Tihar Jail Arrested


New Delhi: A Tihar jail warder, who allegedly supplied drugs inside the prison premises, has been arrested, police said on Thursday. The accused, identified as Sandeep, has been arrested under relevant sections of the law, a senior police official said.

The matter came to light on the morning of April 2 when the accused arrived at central Jail number 4 for his duty and underwent compulsory frisking.

During the inspection, the officials of Tamil Nadu Special Police, deployed in Tihar security, found 30 grams of marijuana and 150 grams of hashish in his possession, the official said.

The matter was reported to the police and Sandeep was arrested under provisions of NDPS Act. During interrogation, it was found that Sandeep had allegedly supplied contrabands inside Tihar premises.
