Wadali Brothers Fame Passes Away


Amritsar: Ustad Pyarelal Wadali of Sufi set Wadali brothers fame breathed his last on Friday in Amritsar. He was 75. Pyarelal, who was the younger brother of Puran Chand Wadali left for his heavenly abode after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was admitted to Fortis Escorts Hospital in Amritsar on Thursday.

The two dyamic brothers gave their first musical performance outside their village at Harballah temple in Jalandhar. The duo of Wadali brothers sang in Kafi, gurbani, ghazal and bhajan genres of music. The two talented singers have also given their voices in Bollywood films like Pinjar, Dhoop, Mausam and Tanu Weds Manu.

Wadali brothers’ popular song Aye Rangrez Mere from the flick Tanu Weds Manu is still a hit among the youth. Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal expressed his grief at the demise of the legendary singer.

Pyarelal’s demise comes as an unfortunate news for the industry which recently lost veteran actresses Sridevi and Shammi.
