Bhopal: The BJP has reportedly suspended Gulab Singh Kirar, who was a part of a panel that represented the backward classes in Madhya Pradesh. TV report said that the suspension was effected a day after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed an FIR against him in connection with the Vyapam scam.
Kirar was a member of the Madhya Pradesh Backward Class and Minority Welfare Commission, and had last attended a meeting of the commission more than six months ago, the Indian Express reports.The paper quoted the Chairman of the Commission, Mahadev Varma, as saying earlier that state government will take a call on Kirar’s membership.
Before his suspension, Kirar enjoyed the rank of a minister of state. He was also named an accused by the SIT, Gwalior, a year ago in the same case.
