Raiganj: Voting in phase 2 of the Lok Sabha polls, which is being held at 11 states and one union territory, was delayed after failure in the working of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) was reported.
The EVM and VVPAT failure were reported in West Bengal’s Raiganj parliamentary constituency. The polling is yet to begin at booth number 29/134 at Islampur Hindi FP School of Uttar Dinajpur in West Bengal’s Raiganj Lok Sabha constituency. EVM malfunction was reported at this booth.
Congress’s Deepa Dasmunshi failed to cast her vote in West Bengal’s Kaliaganj due to the EVM malfunction. She cast her vote after the faulty EVM was replaced.
Voting for the second phase in the Lok Sabha election is being held today (April 18) in 11 states and one union territory.
