Kolkata: Despite Nandigram being known as a stronghold for the ruling Trinamool Congress, West Bengal BJP assistant general secretary Biswopriyo Roy Chowdhury on Wednesday lashes out ruling party and said that it is near to impossible to win at Nandrigram if TMC not rigging votes.
Barbing at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Biswapriyo said that CM did not do anything for Nandrigram villagers. Now they understand the political gimmick. Mamata Banerjee only took the advantage of 2011 political scenario.
According to sources, a team of BJP leaders will go to the Nandigram and will talk to the villagers. Biswapriyo added that Mamata’s govt did not take care the family of 14 farmers who earlier lost their live on 14th march 2007. They live their live with pain and sorrow.
The BJP is trying to establish a political base in Nandigram, the Waterloo for the CPM and the launch pad for West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, by using Mamata’s carelessness about the Nandigram villegers.
It proved to be the Waterloo for the CPM regime led by Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee after people were killed when police opened fire on March 14, 2007 at protesters who refused to give up their land for a special economic zone aggressively pursued by the then Left Front government.
The movement of farmers was led by Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, who was already basking in the glory of a similar protest at Singur. The movement helped Banerjee in sweeping out the 34-year-old Left Front regime from the state.
