New Delhi: Vodafone on Tuesday announced two new tariff plans for its prepaid users. One of which is Rs 509 plan, which is a direct competition to Jio’s 459 plan. The second plan that Vodafone India announced is priced at Rs 458, which is – with doubt – introduced to counter Reliance Jio’s Rs 399 plan, which was revised very recently. Let’s take a quick look at the new plans by the Vodafone, and how it differs from Jio’s plans.
Under the new Rs 509 pack, Vodafone India will offer up to 1GB of 4G data, bundled local and STD calls, free-roaming outgoing calls, and 100 SMSes per day. The plan will be valid for 84 days. This tariff pack is direct competition to Jio’s recently revised Rs 459 plan. So, what does the Rs 459 pan by Jio offers the users? It offers 1GB of data, unlimited local and STD calling facility, unlimited SMSes for 84 days.
Well, going by what both the Rs 509 by Vodafone and Rs 459 plan by Jio, there isn’t much difference in the services. However, it is now up to you to decide which plan suits you better. Jio also offers Rs 509 plan to its prepaid users. Under this plan, the telcos offer 98GB of 4G data with a FUP of 2GB data. Along with data, Rs 509 by Jio also offers unlimited local and STD calls and SMSes as well. This plan comes with a validity of 49 days.
Coming to the second plan that Vodafone announces – the Rs 458 pack. Under this plan, the telecom operator offers 1GB data per day, 100 SMSes, free roaming calls, and bundled calls. This plan comes with a validity of 70 days and comes with a FUP limit of 1GB per day. The Rs 458 plan is a direct competition to Jio’s popular Rs 399 plan.
Under the Rs 399 plan, Jio earlier offers 84GB of 4G data with a daily limit of 1GB, unlimited calls and SMSes for 84 days. However, at the time Diwali, Jio revamped its existing plans. After which Rs 399 plan now offers 70GB of 4G data with a FUP of 1GB, bundled with unlimited local and STD calls and SMSes.
