Gandhinagar: BJP leader Vijay Rupani takes oath as Gujarat Chief Minister at Gandhinagar Sachivalay Grounds on Tuesday morning among the presence of big guns like Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. Nitin Patel was also sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister.
Rupani and his deputy Nitin Patel were administered the oath of office by Gujarat Governor Om Prakash Kohli. PM Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, LK Advani, Yogi Adityanath, senior ministers of the Union council and chief ministers from 18 BJP-ruled states were present at Rupani’s swearing-in ceremony.
Nineteen other ministers, along with Rupani and Patel also took the oath in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah. With many MLAs failing to win the elections, many new faces could be included in the cabinet.
In the recently concluded polls, BJP retained power by winning 99 seats in the 182-member Assembly, while the Congress claimed 77. Six seats went to others, including three Independents.
