Varanasi says ‘hi’ to Wi-Fi

Varanasi: Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugrated BSNL’s free Wi-Fi services in Varanasi on Sunday. He promised a project worth over 100 Crore to boost internet connectivity in the city.

The Minister also declared that the government will set the States’s first IT Park in Varanasi soon. The Minister inaugrated Wi-Fi hot spot zones created by BSNL at Dashashwamedh Ghat and Shitala Ghat of Varanasi on Sunday.

Prasad also said that BSNL will soon be expanding their network in Varanasi with a total estimated cost of 60 Crores.

The company would provide free 30 minutes of services per 24 hours and then will be charging as per the customer’s data plann.

BSNL is also planning to expand the services to other Ghats in Varanasi like Rajendra Prasad Ghat, Man Mandir Ghat, Tript Bhairavi Ghat, Mir Ghat, Lalita Ghat etc.
