Vajpayee Demise: WB Govt Declared Half Day Holiday on August 17

Kolkata: West Bengal State Government has declared Half day holiday on August 17 for all State Govt Offices, State Government Undertaking, PRI, Urban Local Bodies, Govt aided institutions,school, college & universities as a mark of respect for former prime minister AtalBihariVajpayee.

Mamata Banerjee spent an hour at the residence of Vajpayee Ji and then paid her last respects and floral tribute tonight. Sukhendu Sekhar Roy and Dinesh Trivedi will represent AITC on Friday at the cremation.

Earlier, West Bengal Government has cancelled a programme scheduled on Thursday. The programme belonged to State transportation department.

On the scheduled programme many bus AC and Non-AC service were supposed to get inaugurated. Transportation minister of state Suvendu Adhikary supposed to announce set of important announcements. Those who have brought their cars under the Gatidhara scheme, government to offer them valid documents regarding that. At least 1000 people have been incorporated under this transportation scheme.
