Bangaon: The residents of Uttarpara village under Swarupnagar Vidhan Sabha have taught the political parties a lesson. Around 200 villagers refused to cast their vote on Friday. A bamboo bridge connecting the locality has become a dangerous to walk on. The locals had demanded a re-construction of it and also a concrete bridge for many years.

The villagers said, although political parties made promises prior to election they forget to fulfill them once the elections are over.

Leaders from various political parties rushed to the village after news spread but the villagers staunchly refused to cast their vote.
