US-UK joint action against Boko Haram

Sofia: US and UK join hands to curb out terror in parts of Nigeria. The United States Secretary of State John Kerry says he and his British counterpart are discussing a special initiative to deal with the Boko Haram extremist group playing active role in Nigeria and its surrounding areas.

Kerry said that Boko Haram is “without question one of the most evil and threatening terrorist entities on the planet.” He further added that their recent slaughter of hundreds of villagers in northern part of Nigeria is a “crime against humanity” and must be addressed.

Kerry also added at a breakfast party in Sofia that he had talked to the British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond about setting up a new initiative to address Boko Haram and the situation in Nigeria, though he did not elaborate much on the idea. Neither did he throw light on the steps which the countries are about to take.
