Unabetted Violence Reported In Beleghata, Jorasanko

Kolkata: Amid high security, voting began on Thursday at 7:00 am for the crucial third phase of the West Bengal Assembly Polls. In the first 3 hours, 970 complaints have been lodged in the Election Commission. Maximum complaints are from the Bidhannagar area, precisely from the Beleghata Constituency.

Two fake voters have been arrested from Booth No. 25 from the Beleghata. The duo were apprehended following their suspicious movement. Their conflicting statements arose more suspicions and led to their arrest.

Another incident took place where a TMC leader was found inside the polling booth. According to EC’s norms, an assembly contestant is not allowed to be present within 100 meters of the polling booth. In reply to questions by the media, he said that he was looking after the polling process. The central force took no action against the incident.

In another booth, voter identity cards have been allegedly snatched away from the voters by TMC goons.

Similar complaints were lodged from the Jorasako constituency. Innumerable people were seen outside many booths for unknown reasons.  Police forces were deployed in large numbers to scatter the crowd.
