Typhoon Mujigae set to hit China


Beijing: Typhoon Mujigae, the 22nd typhoon of the year, is expected to hit China’s eastern coastal region of Hainan or the western Guangdong province on Sunday, Chinese Government has warned the Chinese. The storm packed with strong winds of the speed of 64.8 kilometers per hour at its eye was detected early today, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The officials said the typhoon was gathering strength in the South China Sea and could bring strong gales and downpours from Sunday.Coastal regions of Hainan and Guangdong are bracing for their peak travel week as China’s week-long National Day holiday started on Thursday.

Over 340,000 people were evacuated with train and flight services suspended as Typhoon Dujuan hit east China’s Fujian province on Tuesday.
