Two more war veterans join fast unto death

New Delhi: With the One rank one pension protests increasing with each passing day, two more former army men have joined the fast unto death even as the health of two other veterans deteriorated and they were rushed to a hospital. The two retired defence personnel who joined the fast are Subedar (retired) Vijay Singh Yadav, Army Service Corp, and SWR Keshav Singh, 65 Armoured Regiment.

Apart from the two named above, there are seven other veterans and the father of a martyr who are on fast-unto-death. After Colonel (retired) Pushpender Singh and Havaldar (retired) Ashok Chauhan, two more soldiers Havaldar Sahib Singh and Major Piar Chand Rana have been admitted to the Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan area after their health deteriorated.

Among those who are currently on fast-unto-death are Colonel Pushpender Singh, Havaldar Ashok Chauhan, Havaldar Major Singh, Havaldar Sahib Singh, Major Piar Chand Rana, Naik Uday Singh Rawat and former Navy personnel Commander AK Sharma along with Sanwal Ram Yadav, father of martyr Lance Naik Sunil Kumar Yadav.
