Bankura: In a tragic incident two elephants died after being electrocuted in West Bengal’s Bankura district on Wednesday.
As per reports, two jumbos stepped on a live electric fence put on by the farmers in Sonamukhi area of the district and died. Four elephants have been killed by electrocution in the last seven days.
As per reports, the farmers in the area in a bid to protest their crops from the marauding herds of elephants have enacted electric fence causing the death.
The forest department despite being informed several times failed to initiate any step to resolve he issue.
