Kolkata: IPS officer Bharati Ghosh, who was removed from the post of police superintendent West Midnapore and was transferred to Barrackpore as commandant, tendered her resignation to Director General of Police Surajit Kar Purakayastha on Wednesday.
According to source, it is told that an enquiry is going to put against IPS Bharati Ghosh for corruption charges, and during this enquiry she will not be released. As per sources, the matter is under an eagle eye surveillance against corruption charges. Though there is no officially statement from govt.
A top official in the state Home department said on condition of anonymity that her resignation letter has been received by the DGP and hinted that it is just a matter of time before her resignation is accepted.
In a shuffle in the IPS cadre in Bengal on December 26, West Midnapore superintendent of police Bharati Ghosh was transferred to the post of the commandant of the third batallion of state armed police in Barrackpore.
However, Ghosh did not join her new position and has sent her resignation. Alok Rajoria, who was the police superintendent of East Midnapore, was transferred as the superintendent of West Midnapore, the post that Ghosh had held for nearly six years. She had also served as the superintendent of Jhargram police district.
