Trinamool MP Prasun Banerjee granted bail


Kolkata: Trinamool MP Prasun Banerjee has been granted bail Bidhannagar sub divisional court on Thursday. He was released on a personal bond of two thousand rupees. There was no appeal by the Public Prosecutor against the bail of the Parliamentarian.

Arrest warrant was issued against the Howrah MP a few days back for slapping an on duty constable near Lake Town Foot bridge on 17 January this year. The constable had stopped the car of the MP which was breaking traffic rules.

A case was filed by Bihadnnagar police Commissionerate on the basis of the complaint of the Police Constable under sections 186 and 353 of the Indian Penal Code.
