New Delhi: Tremors were felt in North India today after an earthquake of 6.4 magnitude struck near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region, around 12:50 am.
Tremors were reported from Chandigarh, Jaipur, Delhi and the National Capital Region in India.
There are also reports of tremors in the Pakistani cities of Lahore and Islamabad.
The earthquake, which hit at a depth of 203.5 kilometres, had its epicentre some 280 kilometres northeast of Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, the US Geological Survey said.
