Trains Come Face To Face In Kalyani, Major Accident Averted


Kalyani: A major accident was averted when two local trains came face-to-face on a track near Kalyani Railway station on Thursday, a television media reported.

An accident was averted on Thursday evening at the Kalyani station after the driver of a local train managed to bring the train to a halt before hitting another kalyani local already standing in the same platform.

The railway authorities have ordered a probe to find out how the local train moved forward even when the platform berth was not clear.

According to sources, the Kalyani Simanata local, halted at platform number 4 of the Kalyani station. Another local train came on the same track and stopped close behind the Kalyani local.
