Guwahati: AS many as six express trains scheduled to ply between north Bengal and Assam have been cancelled today in view of the proposed rail blockade by the Adivasi Ceasefire Organisation and Birsa Commando Force at Kokrajhar in Assam.
The six cancelled trains are ~ 15771 Alipurduar Jn – Kamakhya Intercity Express, 15772 Kamakhya – Alipurduar Jn Intercity Express, 15769 Alipurduar Jn – Lumding Intercity Express, 15770 Lumding – Alipurduar Jn Intercity Express, 55753 Alipurduar Jn – Guwahati Intercity Express, and the 55754 Guwahati – Alipurduar Jn Intercity Express.
Furthermore, the 55713 New Jalpaiguri – Rangiya passenger train scheduled to leave from New Jalpaiguri will be short terminated at New Cooch. The train will return from New Cooch Behar as 55714 as per original time table.
Similarly, 55714 Rangiya – New Jalpaiguri passenger will be short terminated at New Bongaigaon. It will return from New Bongaigaon to Rangiya as 55713 as per original time table.
This apart, Northeast Frontier Railway has announced that the 15959 Howrah-Dibrugarh Kamrup Express would be detained at New Alipurduar, and the 15960 Dibrugarh – Howrah Kamrup Express would be detained at Rangiya until the blockade ended.
Similarly, the 12424 and 12336 New Delhi – Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express trains will be detained at New Cooch Behar, 12423 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Express will be detained at New Bongaigaon, 15619 Gaya – Kamakhya Express will be detained at Gosaigaon Hat, 12516 Guwahati – Trivandrum Express will be detained at Barpeta Road, and 12501 Guwahati – New Delhi Poorvattar Sampark Kranti will be detained at New Bongaigaon.
