Kolkata: The traffic on Saturday may not give much pain to the Kolkatans. Mostly, during pre-puja streets are observed with huge grinding traffic, even on weekends also more traffic congestion is noticed due to the puja shopping. But this Saturday the traffic in Kolkata will be normal as per the Kolkata traffic police. There are three procession in the city but all are non-political so it won’t put any effect on the traffic.
The daily traffic congestion is an unsolved issue that the people of Kolkata deal everyday. Saltlake which was initially not included in this list is also facing the same nowadays. But today everyone will be free from grinding traffic in the city. One of the three procession is around 12:30 pm. There is a protest rally from the Shyambazar crossing to Hatibagan. The next one is near to Hazra Crossing in South Kolkata at around 1.00pm. It is also a protest rally. The police has not yet informed about how many number of people will gather here. At around 3.00 pm, there will be another procession from Moulali to Dorina Crossing.
According to the traffic police source, the procession will pass through SN Banerjee Road. There is also a football match in the East Bengal Aryan ground. Although this place is connected to the shopping hub of the city Esplanade. But there is less possibilities of traffic congestion with the gathering of it’s supporters.
