Digha: Digha tourists are virtually confined in hotels due to the drastic weather change in the state. The heavy downpour and severe storm due to the depression have paralyzed the normal life of the people in the sea belt areas.The red alert spread by the government has prohibited tourists to reach the sea beaches. Hence, the sea beach which is always crowded by the tourist has turned hushed.
Many tourists fell ill due to getting drenched in the rain.The high tides in the night has entered into Digha park and Marine Drive. Police is warning the locals and the tourist every now and then through announcement.
Surveillance are being done from the watch towers. Several tourists have already left Digha due to heavy wind and rain. On the other hand, the fishermen have return back from the deep sea on Thursday night at Digha. The warning is continuing.
Digha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Basuki Nath Banerjee has said that, “Due to the depression followed with continuous rain and storm the sea has turned turbulent. So a tourists are not allowed to go to the sea. We have strict surveillance for the safety of the tourists.”
