Visakapatnam: The much-awaited tourist friendly Vistadome coach is ready to chug for the first time on railway tracks from Visakhapatnam to Araku on Sunday. Union railway minister Suresh Prabhu is to inaugurate the coach through a video conference on Sunday at platform number 8. It is likely to be rolled out for passengers by Thursday, said railway sources.
“At present, only one coach has come. Another one will arrive in the next 15 days. Once put into service for passengers, the coaches will be attached to the existing Vizag-Araku-Kirandul passenger train. They will be detached at Araku in the morning and attached again when it returns in the evening. The fare of these coaches will be higher than the existing general fare,” Waltair divisional railway manager Chandralekha Mukherjee said.
